Kids, mermaid and windowsills

So both kids were off school today one sick, one because of a tutor training day. I don't know! these teachers/tutors, they just sit around eating cakes and drinking tea all day long. I've worked in schools, I know how it goes! The sick one keeps getting a bit better, then getting fluey (is that even a word!) and looking pale and worn out and ever so tearful. She is not so little anymore, so tears are not as fast and furious as they used to be, so when she is tearful you know she is feeling rubbish. (Although she is now at the age where she will be tearful pretty soon most of the time and also slamming doors and throwing shoes and stuff... if ya get my drift).
The tutorless one, he had an appointment at the dentist but it was good news although I have no idea why, he never stopped eating sweets all Christmas. His girlfriend came for dinner/tea tonight and they are presently upstairs watching a film together, I have to keep going to use the bathroom and coughing loudly... really though I'm not that subtle I actually just shout 'You better be behaving yourselves or else!!' a lot, in a threatening manner. That'll kill the mood if there is one.
I wouldn't choose to have me as a mother really.

I keep meaning to borrow my parents digital camera so I can show you some of the craft stuff I have been working on (stuff being my favourite word of the day apparently) I only managed to borrow it briefly yesterday when I took some of my cakes up to my parents house. I shall endevour to borrow it again and take more snaps. So in the meantime I have to look at the photos already in my files and they are old as the hills.
Take this mermaid for instance, I made her about seven years ago for someone but she ended up staying with me. She is not terribly good and my very first attempt at using fimo, but I quite like her and she has pretty much the same style hair as me. (I kid you not!)
And this one is of my windowsill in the kitchen, exciting hey! and look at the date, June last year, but I got to hang my washing out, how I long to do that again!
I like melamine and I like measuring cups which is handy when I am baking. As I mentioned before I like dotty things and also tablecloths, one is hanging outside there on the line!

So anyway that is all for today, I am tired this evening and I have some teenagers I need to go and shout at!
