Mothers day, cottages and tv.

Heavens, I hadn't realised I had been away so long! Thank you for all your lovely comments on my previous post!
I have finally managed to send my parcel to Dominique at Shabby shac! Hurrah!
A belated Happy mothers day to all you Mothers/Grandmothers/great Grandmothers/ mothers to be etc.. out there! (I know our Mothers day differs from the US mothers day but I'll send my wishes now as I will forget later on!)
I had a lovely day. Much of it spent watching tv but more of that later!
These are the presents I got my dear Mama.
I made the Hare (not a bunny this time! it's a hare! Making smaller ones are so much more difficult than the bigger ones and making them out of towelling is a lot easier than out of cotton). And these are the presents I received. I was very lucky indeed! El made me this flower in a jar!And I got these! The books and the little lantern are from J...The body lotion, a teddy, a small box of roses and a ceramic cupcake are from L...And my mum and Dad got me the little cottage which is a jam pot. My Grandma would never serve marmalade and Jam in their jars on the breakfast table, they were always in pots, I love the idea of that. My Mum thought the little house would go with the cake stands I have... and also the tea cosy that my Grandma made and which I have kept. My parents have a lovely embroidered fire screen that my Grandma made, My Grandad didn't believe in television so she spent many hours sewing and making pegged rugs.
It's a good job I'm not married to someone like my Grandad as yesterday I seemed to do a lot of watching of the old goggle box. I did however fit in a walk to the park with the kids and a lovely visit to my parents and a delicious Sunday dinner made by my Mum.
Sometimes there is nothing on tv and then other times there is one thing after another. I did sort out all my magazine cuttings though so I wasn't totally unproductive. I watched 'Seance on a wet afternoon' while the kids did their homework outside in the yard (sat on the blanket, we make the best of any sunshine that comes our way!). Then I watched 'The turn of the screw' and it finally made some sense (I've read the story by Henry James and seen lots of filmed versions of it but remained a bit puzzled, I think I have it worked out now!) Followed by 'larkrise to Candleford' which I am thorougly enjoying! And then just as I was going to bed, I saw there was an old Hammer house of horror on and it had Diana Dors in it so I just had to watch it. The special effects were terrible by todays standards but I still enjoyed it! So a very nice afternoon was spent glued to the tv!
Oh all the photos of my things, are done on the new camera. I absolutely love it! It is so easy to use. :D
I look forward to catching up on some blogs this evening!

Sounds like you had a really enjoyable day. And what a lot of presents! I'm loving Larkrise to Candleford too, though it's had some negative reviews.

Hi Jennie, what lovely gifts you received, and gave! I wanted to watch Turn of the Screw on Sunday but was outnumbered and had to watch several episodes of Come Dine with Me, and I've just seen in your post that Colin Firth was in it - darn it! I'll have to see if it's out on DVD. I've read the book too and still not sure if I've worked it out.
