Little bit of Sad news, yet more prezzies and a day out in York.

Sad news first, the baby seagull I featured on my blog a while ago, had to be put to sleep last week. It got hit by a car and had a broken leg, a broken wing and it was infected with maggots (poor thing). A neighbour took it to the vets and the vet put it to sleep to put it out of its misery. A second seagull (we have had three) was run over yesterday night and killed. It makes me cross really because they are not small birds, they are nearly fully grown so easy to see. I have been upset about it, I know they are a pain when they nest, but I hate to see them get knocked down. It seems such a waste. Especially as it's white feathers were coming through so another couple of days and it would have been flying. It didn't help that L had named them!
Anyway onto brighter things... The lovely Lucy at Lucy Bloom sent me a package of gorgeousness. I was so overwhelmed with her generosity! (look at all the rik rak!)
This pretty card using a vintage playing card.. so cute. These adorable stickers and a post card which I featured at the start of this post. This lovely little envelope containing my favourite thing ever.. chocolate! A heart keyring, beautiful. This prettiness that contained this prettiness! How I adore rik rak ribbon! And this wonderful fabric which I love so much! And finally some pretty little pegs! Thank you so much Lucy!! Such a lovely parcel and such a lovely surprise!
Yesterday I went to York hospital to see about my nose. They are happy with how I am doing on the spray they gave me and so have signed me off their books. If I have trouble again then I have to go back to my doctor and be referred back to them. After an hour waiting for a two minute appointment it was a bit tedious! My ex sister in law took me and we went with her two children and L. So we spent the afternoon looking around York and doing a bit of shopping. I was delighted to see a new Cath Kidston shop had opened and went to look in it with L.
Oh I love this shop so much. I was in heaven, but unfortunately it's a little bit dear for me, but I could not leave without treating myself to a couple of bits and this is what I came away with! Sorry my blogging has been so lapse but we've been quite busy this week! Normal services will be resumed in September! :D I hope you are all enjoying the Summer!

Sorry to hear about the birdies. You know I'm visiting the hossie on a 6 monthly basis as I've got something wrong with my sinuses. 1and 1/2 hour wait, 2 minute consultation - doh!
Lovely pressie from Lucy Bloom. I quite fancy a Cath Kidston mushroom pincushion and keep thinking I could make that, but know I probably won't :)

What a great present from Lucy - really pretty. I've got the Cath toadstool too, and I love it!
Sorry about your seagulls - it's horrible when you adopt wild animals and things go wrong - it can be really traumatic.

Hiya Rizzo, sorry I mean Jennie, so you are a rebel too? I tried to leave you a message yesterday but blogger wouldnt let me. Im so sorry to hear of your sad news about your seagulls. The first time my cat caught a bird, I managed to get it and spent all night stroking it in a shoe box until I could get (I think it was someone from the rspb?) to take it away. I rang later in the day and they said it had survived but I dont think it had, I think they just said it because I was in such a state. Ive lost a dog, a cat and 2 kittens in the last 8 months so know exactly how you must feel just now. So why not come round and I'll throw you a pink party to cheer you up..... Move the settee back, have a few pink coloured cocktails and do the hand jive!I warn you in advance you might have to pick me up off the floor because I have dodgy knees. Although once Im down there I could do 'oops up side your head' do you remember doing that dance at the disco? Oh Dear! LOL!

I'm sorry to hear about the seagulls, it seems so needless. I get quite attached to the birds in our garden, some are regulars and very recognizable.

Enjoy your lovely things- I hope they cheer you up. They are beautiful, as ever.

Jennie, they're selling Cath Kidston shopping bags at Tesco for £3.50. (You were the first person I thought of when I saw them)!

If you're not near a Tesco, e-mail me your address and I'll send you one.

What lovely goodies and what a generous friend. Love Kath Kidson stuff too, but like you said a bit pricey. Her book Vintage Stuff has some good cheap ideas in it though.

Sorry to hear about the seagulls. They are so beautiful flying but some people just see them as vermin sadly.

That's sad about the seagulls. Last month on holiday we went to Matsushima and went an a cruise around the islands, the seagulls followed the boats and even took food form people's fingers, it was fun to watch!
That bag of goodies is awesome!
