Oh how hideous, I have to go and get flu and really abandon you all! Six days I have crawled around feeling like death warmed up, and now I am getting back on track, both the kids are off with it too! This time of year! I love it, but we always get so ill! I didn't have my flu jab, bad bad me, and look what happened! I think there is a lesson in there somewhere!Today I am feeling better, but I am on steroids again for my asthma just in case it kicks off again. It is the ball on Saturday and I am travelling down to London on a coach from here on Friday morning. So I will have to pack plenty of reading material. Pity I don't have a laptop, I could catch up on all your blogs. I need to buy some shoes but I think I am pretty much sorted and I must remember to pack my camera so I can show you how I looked!
I had my hair cut yesterday, four inches off the bottom! It was quite a shock really but its okay because it is still past my shoulders. I hadn't realised how long it had got!
I am hoping to get on with some rabbits for christmas presents today and think of a few easy to do other ideas. I shall try to watch an old film but the kids are here so it is more likely to be something they want to watch! I want to see 'Horton hears a Hoo' so I might just get that out of blockbusters!

Oh I watched 'The edge of Love' the other day and really enjoyed it.
I wasn't so keen because it had Keira Knightley and Sienna Miller in it, not that I mind them both but I think they have been overused in the last year and I am quite bored of seeing them (Especially Keira). Anway I was pleasantly surprised!
I don't have much other news I'm afraid. So I shall show you nice things instead!
Do you remember ladybird books. My absolute favourite was 'The wolf and the seven little kids' its quite a disturbing story really, the mother goat cutting open the wolf, letting her babies out (as he had eaten them) and then filling it back up with rocks then sewing him back together!

And I loved cinderella (the ladybird version had her in THREE ballgowns, how splendid!)
I loved the illustrations. Well I am probably the very last person on earth to know this, but you can get canvas's and prints of the vintage ladybird books. How cool is that!Check out this site: http://www.ladybirdprints.com/ So many to choose from! My friend and I spent ages ooohing and ahhing over all the ladybird books we used to have.
I love trawling through blogs for tutorials so I can say 'I would love to make those' and then not make them! Here are a couple of tutorials I have seen lately which I may endeavour to make at some point, but then again...
A really cute little carry house bag!
How sweet is this. From UK Lass in US. It opens out and you can put little dolls in it and furniture and oh it's just too sweet, check out her site and her flickr for more ideas!
This really cute little felt stocking from Pimp Stitch by Amy Cluck.
And finally I found this little animation posted on a blog last year but I don't remember whose it was :/ I found it again on youtube and thought I would post it so you could share it too. It's very christmassy and very cute!

Hi Jennie,
I'm so sorry you've been 'under the weather'! My daughter and I have been a little puny too the last week or so -- very frustrating when Christmas is looming and there's so much to do, isn't it?
I haven't even heard of the movie you mentioned, but I must hurry off to Netflix and see if I can find it. In the evening, I love to sit in front of the TV with a good movie on & knit away.
Love your blog -- it's beautiful!

Hia Jennie, Good to hear that you're up and about again. I hope you have a wonderful time at the ball on Sat.
I was a fan of Cinderella's 2nd dress -the blue one in the Ladybird book. Isn't it strange how much you remember!
Ok I'm back and this is a while later- that Ladybird site is addictive. I'm amazed at how many of the pictures are so familiar!
Hope the ball is fantastic and lots of fun. Having the flu is no fun. Loved the animation, was the mitten dog totally adorable, all knitted as well. Thanks for sharing.
