Goodness me how long have I left it!

So Halloween came and went. We all got dressed up (Even adults we looked gorgeous!!!) We all went on a scary Halloween walk up at the park. I don't have any photos I am afraid. Only of the pumpkin before we cut it into a lantern! I am a terrible blogger!!! So we had a houseful Friday and Saturday night and it was fun. I like chaos.
Oh... and I am to attend a ball! (Don't laugh!) I spent ages trying to find a floor length dress, one that wouldn't break the bank and finally, yesterday I did. It is a dark purple almost aubergine colour, and not fussy at all (which is what I wanted). Today I was on the hunt for a bolero type shrug as I am not a big fan of my arms! I hunted high and low (there's a song in there) gasping at the prices that Debenhams flashed before me, finally ending up in the ex catalogue shop, and there it was, a long sleeved velvet shrug. Exactly my size, the only one in the shop and a bargain price of £10.99.. only when I got to the counter it was in a sale and only cost me five whole pounds! I can't find any pictures of them so will take some soon.
I went around the charity shops the other week with my friend and he found this bag of half made dolls for me. A couple of them were Venus A Dodge ones, so I treated myself to the book from ebay so I could find out how to finish them!
I also got these bricks for ten pence, which I thought were cute.Oh and these Angels, well I must start thinking about Christmas.
Talking of Christmas, I made a start on my swap for Twiggy but I don't like what I have made :((( so I am hastily trying again, although I have nearly finished something I am making for Twiglet!

Finally it was my friends birthday the other day and he wanted a fruit cake. I asked him if he would obviously much prefer a victoria sponge.. (which I had successfully made the week before for my Mum) but no he wanted a fruit cake. So I made him one. I was quite pleased with how it turned out and so was he!
I hope you are all well and happy and I look forward to catching up with you all soon in the next couple of days.

Hia Jennie, so glad romance is still in the air. Love the look of your cake.

I'm sure you will look great at the ball. 2 weeks isn't such a long time. Just get Christmas crafting and the time will fly past.

lovely to hear from you.

My mum used to make fruit cakes just like that, it was my dad's favourite. I hope you enjoyed the ball, your dress does sound lovely, and I don't like the tops of my arms either, or my knees! x
