Decorating of the girls bedroom.

It was my daughters fifteenth birthday last Sunday and I had promised her I would decorate her room (well actually I had said I'd do it for Christmas but flu (well actually we find out now swine flu) knocked us all off our feet so it didn't happen). Anyway J her kind brother, and me set about painting the walls one day while she was at school. Then when she went out for pizza on Saturday with her friends we did up the whole room to surprise her when she got back. This is how it looked...She has a dark orange carpet, so I wasn't sure how to go about decorating, she's such a mucky pup, gets her make up and hair products everywhere so I didn't want to go down the girly flowery route so instead opted for bright pink with splashes of zebra print (L's leg got in that photo). I also included lots of baskets for her to keep things in, rather than keeping them all on the floor!I found this wonderful zebra print in Matalan and it was only £12.99 I also changed her curtains from curtain pole style to tab style. (The thing in the middle of the window is a rainbow maker which my Dad got her for Christmas). Now it's all about the keeping it tidy! My room next, when I have the energy.

I would have posted these earlier but sadly a dear friend of the family died at the start of the week, it was unexpected and a shock and he leaves behind a wife and two daughters in their early twenties. We have all being incredibly upset about it, especially my Dad as it was his closest friend. The funeral is tomorrow. It is so sad when someone leaves so unexpectedly and I feel for those left behind.
Anyway as soon as I get chance I will catch up on your blogs. Thank you those who have found me again and have commented, its lovely to see you all xxx

Sorry to hear about your sad news. Hope you are managing to cope with it all. The room looks very funky and trendy. If only there was a clean tablet or a tidy pill we could give teenagers.
