Gorgeous film set apartments.

I finally watched '27 dresses' today and I fell in love with the tiny glimpse you got of Jane's bathroom. I love the colour. Then looking at it more on this flickr site... it is pretty much the same as my utility room colour :/
I loved the whole of Jane's apartment, very open plan and airy.
Try to ignore James Marsen and just admire the lovely sofa and background. Such gorgeous colours and designs! I may have to be adventurous and paint my bathroom and bedroom soon because I am very tired and bored of my house at the minute... and cleaning it is no longer a pleasure but a chore, because I don't feel inspired by what I see. (Oh for a man who can put up shelves and do that diy stuff).

I also fell in love with the first Bridget Jones more for her apartment than anything, but I can never find any decent images of it, so have to just pause the film a lot to gaze in awe and wonder at the lovely open fire and the gorgeous chaise lounge. And I still like those pyjamas!
I like the colour scheme in the second one too (of course I would it's blue and turquoise).
Another beauty to behold is Amelie's apartment. Such vibrant colours but a bit too bold for me!
Added a bit late but just remembered looking at The linen cupboard blog! Mamma Mia, how could I forget you! Those pretty blue walls!
And I too fell in love with the red and cream blanket on the bed, it is wonderful and goes with the blue so well.
I am pretty much assuming I am not the only person who watches these films and spends more time trying to look at the set rather than the acting ;) I wish the set designers would pop around to mine and set up all my house.. that would be grand indeed.
OOh I found this picture when I was browsing for pictures from Amelie. I love the colour of the wallpaper and the lampshade.
I would love my bedroom to be in this kind of style.. one day.

Because I am nearly at my 100th post (or so it says on my dashboard) I shall be offering an October giveaway at the start of October in my next post. My giveaway is under way so when it is completed I will blog about it... so watch this space!!!

I sometimes have the same thing. Even a new colour of accessories can help or dyeing the old ones.

Love the bath in the pic.

What about getting a collection of ideas and pinning them up on an inspiration board and see if you can see a theme that will work?

Im so with you on the decorating Jennie. I couldnt wait to finish my house as it took an age before I could do the nice pretty things, but Im bored already, 2 rooms have been done 4 times in 4 and a half years. I need a big house with plenty of rooms and high ceilings so I can go mad with swirly dramatic wallpaper. The pale blue wallpaper and lamp look very Laura Ashley. Do show us what you decide when you decorate, I love to see other peoples homes to get ideas and inspiration. I watch films and look behind at the decor too X

I'm just the same regarding film sets. One of my favourites is the house and garden in What Lies Beneath. (And the bonus is it comes complete with Harrison Ford).

I have to say, I rarely seem to admire the interiors of film 'rooms' ... I'm a very 'dialogue' sort of person. But I think from here on, I'll be paying a bit more attention.

I have just this week found a man who will do all those odd jobs for me. I have to pay him of course, but never mind - at least I shall have mirrors and curtain poles up! Oh, and an erection in the garden ;-)

100 posts!, it doesn't seem five minutes since you started blogging. I can't wait to see what the giveaway is and I still have three of my own to make/finish yet! I keep starting them but they end up coming out wrong so I have to start all over again!

Hey! Thanks for following my blog!
I kind-of-in-a-roundabout-way-through-a-friend-of-a-friend know one of the set dressers who works on Larkrise To Candleford. It's filmed just round the corner from me. I can tell you're impressed!

It's nice to know that I'm not the only one looking at the homes as much as following the storyline in the movies.

The apartment in 27 dresses was really special... And her closet of dresses was so gorgeous... I still haven't seen mamma mia... It doesn't strike me as my sort of thing, but from all the praise it's had, i must give it a go.

Thanks for following my blog xx

I used to love watching 'Green Card' with Andie McDowell - her apartment is gorgeous, and also 'Sleeping with the Enemy' with Julia Roberts, when she moves to the country house - just lovely - Natalie x

Hi, it seems like forever since I have stopped by to say Hello! I love the film room sets you have up! I thought I was the only one who did stuff like that, fall in love with the room and forget the movie! I once watched Baby Boom, I think that is the name!, because of the house in it. It was to take place in VT and well I love VT, the mountains, etc. and of course Funny Farm, I have watched that so many times to see the house and then last year I beleive there was a movie where one girl goes to England and the other to California to get away from it all, I loved the house in England, well the film set!
I hope all else is going well, take good care, Martha

I had forgotten about the flat in Bridget Jones, I think my favourite has to be Amelie's - anything to do with Amelie has to be fantastic!

The Holiday; story OK, but the houses!!!! Ai ai ai! I love the cottage, rather than the LA mansion, but the tent that the girls have is just the best!!!!

Gosh, 100 posts, where did the time go?! I always look at film sets, even if the film isn't all that good if it's set in my dream house then I'm a fan. I agree, Sleeping with Enemy has a lovely small-town house which you'd adore. Also, Bewitched (the Nicole version), gorg house, and Practical Magic. Nice post as always.

It's always good to be viewing a film on several levels.

Oh I know. I've flipped over these very same apartments for so long. Especially Amelie, although there is NO way I'm brave enough to go with those colors. Maybe if I moved to Paris. :)
